49 Day Temperament Test

Pup #1 Black Tri Male

Puppy eagerly went over to the Tester and climbed up on to their lap. He gave the Tester Big, gentle kisses on the chin ( no teeth). Puppy then rolled over on to his back for a belly rub, very content and at ease with the Tester. Puppy followed the tug toy pouncing, trying to catch it with his front paws. He shook the toy and tugged with the Tester. Puppy chased the ball 5 times in a row and just stood over the ball looking back at the Tester/ He brought the toy back on the 6th and 7th throw before losing interest. Puppy eagerly followed the Tester around in every direction. He kept to the Testers side trying , always looking for eye contact and further direction from the Tester. Puppy stayed calm while being petted, staying at the Testers side, giving little kisses on their chin. Puppy whimpered quickly during the pain test and looked at his paw in concern. Puppy melted in the Testers arms while being cradled., so relax and calm. He let his ears flip back and tried to give little more kisses when the Tester started talking to them. Puppy very much liked getting kisses from the Tester and gave kisses in return, all the over the Testers face, until the Tester made them stop :) Puppy is more willing to tug on the toy now that he is more comfortable with the Tester. He always ran for the ball during fetch but rarely brought it back to the Tester, he became to distracted with his new environment. Puppy was in play mode when he heard the loud sound. He perked up his ears and walked over curiously to investigate. Puppy was not intimidated by the Testers and patiently waiting for the Tester to give him some attention. Puppy initial struggled when elevated but settled quickly. He raced off when let down to quickly play. Puppy attacked the whip at full speed and followed in all directions. He caught the whip several times, shaking it vigorously in the air. Puppy wiggled some when being restrained but quickly settled when the Tester gave eye contact. When the Tester fell puppy walked over to the Tester and started licking their face and nuzzling their chin and neck. Then the puppy laid down tucked under the Testers chin whimpering until the Tester responded. When the Tester got out the food, Puppy sniffed and licked at the Testers hands for about 15 second before sitting down, looking at the Tester waiting patiently for more. Puppy followed the tug toy around but was not fully focused, still sniffing for more food. He really wanted to play with the Tester and chased the Testers hands more then the toy, stopping to give lots of kisses. Puppy chased the ball, but kept returning with out it, wanting to play with the Tester.

Pup #2 Black Tri Male

Puppy slowly squirmed over to the Tester and gently placed his front paws on the Testers lap, eagerly accepting affection from the Tester. He then rolled on to his back for a belly rub. The tester found a "sweet spot" on the top of the puppy's chest, making the puppy scratch quickly with his back leg. Puppy chased the tug toy with his nose to the ground, sniffing loudly. He did not open his mouth the whole time and followed the toy around only pawing gently at it with his front paws. Puppy retrieved the ball 3 times before stopping to chew the paper ball up :) Tester switched to a real ball and the puppy lost interest. Puppy followed the Tester around cautiously and became more confident and playful as the Tester spoke to him. Puppy was eager for more attention from the Tester. He sat at the Testers side, starring at the Tester, making a connection. Puppy has a low pain tolerance and gave a sharp yelp and ran free, seeking the Testers lap for comfort. Puppy acted playful while being cradled. He nibbled on the Testers fingers, wagging his tail, very content to be in the Testers arms. Puppy loves receiving kisses. He nestled his nose into the Testers hair sniffing and nuzzling gently and giving gentle kisses, seeming very happy. Puppy really wanted to play with the tug toy while the Tester was still holding on. Puppy would drop it once the Tester did. He did not want to leave the Testers side and would chase the ball slightly, then turn race back to the Tester for more attention. Puppy raced in the direction of the loud sound, just like it was another toy with no hesitation. Puppy pulled his ears back slightly as the Tester cowered over him. He then quickly started to pounce around happily, ready to play with the Tester. Puppy instantly gave a big body squirm in effort to get from being elevated, then settled down for the duration. Puppy followed the whip curiously, pouncing to try and catch it with his front paws. Puppy initially enjoyed by restrained on his back but then started to squirm near the end (30 sec too long). When the Tester fell, the Puppy jumped up on the Testers side panting heavy. He then climbed off and started to nibble the Testers ear while sniffing/licking/ scratching at the Testers face until they responded. When the Tester got out the food, Puppy sniffed at the Testers hands for about 20 seconds, gave 1 Big scratch with his paw and then gave up and wondered off to explore. Puppy easily refocused his attention to the tug toy and enjoyed chasing the toy around in circles. Puppy retrieved the ball 6 times before climbing on the Testers lap for a rest.

Pup #3 Black Bi Male

Puppy eagerly went over to meet the Tester with his head low to the ground, full body wiggles. He grunted and curled his lips in a smile when the Tester scratched behind his ears and started hiccupping with excitement, tail thumping the ground loudly. Puppy stocked the tug toy with his eyes first then pounced the toy, catching it on his first try. He then shook the toy vigorously went off to the side to chew on it. Puppy would chase the ball, but not bring it back to the Tester. Puppy became excited wen the Tester stood up and eagerly followed them around. He followed with graceful movements, confidently with his head up and tail up. Puppy calmed right down when the Tester sat back down to give him some affection and rolled over on his back for a belly rub. Puppy has an average pain tolerance. and only pulled his leg away slightly before turning around to give the Tester kisses! Puppy was trusting of the Tester. He completely relaxed when being cradled giving a full teeth smile and allowed to the tester to elevate and hold him with no concern. Puppy loves giving and accepting kisses. He put his paws on the Testers face to get closer and cleaned out the Testers ears with Big slobbery kisses :) Puppy really got into the 2nd game of tug. He would not let go and kept shaking his head and pulling back with all his might. Puppy chased the ball over and over but rarely brought it back to the Tester. Puppy perked up his ears to the loud sound, jumped up quickly and ran in the sounds direction, ready to play. Puppy was not intimidated by the Tester. He eagerly sat waiting for the Tester to approach him and give him some attention. Puppy watched the whip with his eyes before calmly following the whip, swiping at it with his front paws. He stood up on his back legs as the whip went higher in the air and fell over backwards, jumping back up more excited then ever. Puppy did not mind being restrained at all. He just laid there calmly, giving the Tester eye contact. When the Tester fell, the Puppy cautiously walked over to the Tester and tucked himself close to the Testers belly and whimpered continuously until the Tester responded. When the Tester got out the food, Puppy scratched and nipped at the Testers hand, eagerly trying to get to the food. Puppy followed the tug toy with his eyes but would not leave the area where the food was, sniffing the ground excitedly. Puppy became too distracted by the food to play fetch. He pounced around the room with his nose to the ground in search for more food, panting loudly.
