49 Day Old Temperament Test

Pup #1 Black Tri Male

Puppy creeped hesitantly over to the Tester with his tail wagging low. He stopped and sat down in front of the Tester and waited eagerly for some attention. Puppy looked and perked his ears at the tug toy bouncing around, but did not leave the Testers side to play. He chased the ball curiously and then looked at the Tester when they called him back over, but instead, puppy played with the ball independently, pushing it around with his nose. Puppy followed the Tester around in all directions, panting and wagging his tail happily. Puppy curled up to the Tester for some affection. Puppy really enjoyed a good scratch and thumped his tail hard on the ground repeatedly. Puppy has a low pain tolerance. He let out a high pitch yelp quickly, startling the Tester to stop. Puppy did not struggle while being cradled but did seem a bit uncomfortable, rolling his eyes from side to side. He gently accepted kisses from the Tester, giving very little kisses back and sniffed the Testers cheek curiously. Puppy became more willing to play as the Test went on. He chased the tug toy around in circles, gently tugging with the Tester, stopping when the Tester stopped. Puppy retrieved the ball 7X to the Tester before stopping for a drink of water and laying down for a quick break. Puppy slowly walked/ stalked in the direction of the loud sound to investigate. Puppy initially pulled his ears back while stepping away from the Tester as they tried to intimidate them, but did stop and sit down, waiting for the Tester to approach. Puppy gave a few little whimpers when first elevated and then relaxed, looking around slightly. Puppy followed and pounced at the whip very curiously in all directions. Again, puppy initially struggled when the Tester tried to restrain them, but quickly relaxed and gave great eye contact, trusting the Tester wasn't going to hurt him. When the Tester fell, the Puppy started to pace back and forth while whimpering softly. After a few moments, he laid on t he Testers arm and closed his eyes until the Tester responded. When the Tester got out the food, Puppy sniffed their hand very gently for just a few seconds. Then he sat back down and starred at the Tester, patiently waiting for his treat. Puppy showed no interest in the tug toy, still sniffing around for more food. He did retrieve the ball 2 more times before he climbed on the Testers lap for a nap. Puppy seemed tired out.

Pup #2 BTF

Puppy immediately raced over to the Tester, tail wagging fast and climbed right up on the Testers lap for attention. Puppy followed the tug toy with her eyes and would chew on the toy from the Testers lap, but did not get up to tug or chase. Puppy retrieved the ball 1X before running off to explore her new surroundings. Puppy followed the Testers around, panting excitedly underfoot, pouncing in all directions. Puppy loves affection. She put her paws gently on the Testers chest to get close enough to give big kisses. Also chewed on Testers necklace excitedly. Puppy has an average pain tolerance and only kicked her foot free. Puppy quickly relaxed when being cradled and gave the Tester some more kisses on their cheek. Puppy did not leave the Testers lap to play with the tug toy or to play ball. She really enjoyed being petted and getting to know the Tester. Puppy turned her head curiously toward the loud sound and pawed the ground in that direction but again did not leave the Testers side. Puppy initially backed away from the Tester as they tried to intimidate her, and then she stopped and laid down, waiting for the Tester to approach. Puppy quickly relaxed when being elevated. She looked around slightly and sniffed the air curiously. Puppy instantly perked her ears up at the sight of the whip, jumped up and chased the whip in all directions, very excited. Puppy did not like being restrained and would not give eye contact with the Tester. When the Tester fell the Puppy started to howl loudly. She then raced over to the falling Tester and started tugging frantically on their hair until the Tester responded. When the Tester got out the food, Puppy started to whimper while sniffing at the hand trying to figure out a way to the food. The whimpering escalated to yelping as she became more frustrated. She scratched and licked for over 35 sec before leaving to sniff around for more food. Puppy is excited now to play with the tug toy. She ran around in circles, chasing after the toy, tugging hard with the Tester. Puppy retrieved the ball 4X before climbing up on to the Testers lap for some more love.

Pup #3 BTM

Puppy walked over to the Tester with his tail wagging slowly sniffing the air heavily. He then climbed up on to the Testers lap and gave little kisses the Testers chin and neck, still wagging his tail happily. Puppy shook the tug toy vigorously, but stopped tugging once the Tester stopped and would only play more when the Tester was playing too, Puppy retrieved the ball 2X with encouragement but he would rather stay on the Testers lap receiving affection. Puppy enjoys being petted and curled up to The Tester cuddle. He stayed very calm while being cradled and did not mind being handled in any way. Puppy has an average pain tolerance and just looked over to his foot. Puppy eagerly accepted kisses from the Tester but did not give any back. When the Tester put him back down, he began pouncing around in front of the Tester, initiating play. Puppy followed the tug toy with his eyes first and then pounced with his front paws catching the toy with his first try. He then took off with it to chew. Puppy retrieved the ball another 2 times before picking back up the tug toy and retrieved that another 3 times, shaking the toy after each catch. Puppy turned towards the loud sound but was too distracted by the tug toy to bother getting up. Puppy was intimidated by the Tester and backed up away quickly whimpering softly. He recovered and raced back over to the Tester once the Tester sat back down. Puppy seemed to enjoy being elevated, looking around curiously and did not struggle while being restrained. Puppy was not interested in the whip and only followed the toy slightly with his eyes. When the Tester fell, the Puppy ran to the exit door and started scratching and whimpering to get out? Not sure if he was scared? or trying to get help? When the Tester got out the food, Puppy sniffed the Testers hand for about 15 seconds gently and then slowly wondered off to explore his new environment. He ate his food so slowly and gently. Puppy had no interest in playing with the tug toy and only retrieved the ball 1X before climbing back up on the Testers lap for a cuddle and rest.

Pup #4 BMF

Puppy immediately walked over in the direction of the Tester, but off to the side. She then crawled on to the Tester lap and enjoyed having behind her ears scratched, tail wagging happily. Puppy really liked the tug toy, following the toy curiously. She caught the toy and tugged really hard, not wanting to give it up, running around in circles. Puppy retrieved the ball 3X before crawling back up on to the Testers lap for a rest. Puppy was very happy and eager to follow the Tester around the room and kept looking up for further direction. Puppy enjoys affection and curled her body for a bum scratch. Puppy has an average to high pain tolerance, not being bothered by the pinch. Puppy did not struggle when being cradled. She seemed really happy and content to stay their all day. Puppy eagerly accepted the Testers kiss and rubbed her head along the Testers head/cheek/chin and gave kisses on their nose. Puppy loves running after the tug toy. She played with the toy by herself when the Tester stopped playing, throwing the toy up in the air. Puppy retrieved the ball 4X climbing up on the Testers lap in between each throw, stopping for love :) Puppy raced after the loud sound ready to attack, turned her into complete play mode. She was not intimidated by the Tester and pounced at them eager to play. Puppy tolerated being elevated and kept her tail wagging slowly, but went off, away from the Tester when she was let back down. She went to a far corner and laid down to rest. Puppy watched the whip with her eyes from a distance but did not get up from her spot. Tester called the Puppy over "here puppy puppy" and the pup bounced back up and raced over, tail waging fast. Puppy did not struggle when being restrained. She flopped over on her belly like a rag doll, no restraint required. When the Tester fell, the Puppy circled the Testers body twice sniffing the air and ground, then went of to explore, not to return. When the Tester got out the food, Puppy sniffed and licked the Testers hand, her excitement escalating until she bit the Testers hand "ooch" Puppy had no interest in the tug toy after the food was introduced and went off to search the floor for more. Tester was able to get the Puppy's attention for 1 quick retrieve before she went back off, looking for more food.

Pup #5 BTM

Puppy was very happy to meet the Tester and raced over and climbed up on to the Testers lap, rolling over on his back for a belly rub. He then rolled back over jumped up and off the Tester lap and grabbed the tug toy initiating play! Puppy followed the tug toy around in all direction, pawing at the toy with his front paws. Puppy chased after the ball but kept returning to the Tester with out it. Puppy eagerly followed the Tester around the room, sometimes getting underfoot, trying to stay close. Puppy enjoyed petted and rolled back over on to his back for a belly rub. Puppy has an average pain tolerance. He whimpered quietly and jumped up and walked away. Puppy pawed the Testers face while being cradled and kept straining upwards to give kisses. Puppy eagerly accepted kisses from the Tester and gave little kisses back, allover the Testers face. He got really excited when the Tester started to baby talk, and gave more big kisses. Puppy gently played with the Tug toy while lying on his back like a kitten playing with a ball of yarn. He again would race after the ball, but would quickly turn around and race back to the Tester for more attention. Puppy perked up his ears curiously when he hard the loud noise and then walked over to investigate excitedly. Puppy was not intimidated by the Tester and laid down patiently waiting for the Tester to approach him. Puppy was very relaxed when being elevated and did not struggle at all while being restrained. He was so calm and his back, and gave great eye contact. When the Tester fell, the Puppy raced over to the fallen Tester and jumped on their face, scratching them with his font paws until the Tester responded. When the Tester got out the food, Puppy sniffed loudly and started pacing back and forth, whimpering quietly. He gave up before 15 seconds and went off sniffing his new environment. Pup had no interest in the tug toy after the food was introduced. Puppy finally started to retrieve the ball with some extra encouragement from the tester and brought the ball back 4X before wondering off again with his nose to the ground.

Pup #6 BMF

Puppy circled the test room before making her way over to the Tester. She stopped half way in front of the Tester, starred at them and then hesitantly came over and curled up on to the Testers lap, sticking out her chin for a scratch. Puppy chased the tug toy around, but quickly lost interest and rolled on to her back for a belly rub. Puppy got really excited once the Tester started baby talk and retrieved the ball 5X before crawling back on to the testers lap for another belly run, tail wagging fast. Puppy followed the Tester happily, right at their side. She eagerly accepted affection front he Tester, putting her front paws gently on the Tester face to offer kisses. Puppy has an average to low pain tolerance. She let out a sharp whimper, stood right up and walked away. Puppy did not tolerate being picked up and cradled. She fought the whole time to be flipped back over and immediately calmed back down. Puppy loved kisses from the Tester and gave Big slobbery kisses all over the Testers face in return. Puppy gently tugged on the tug toy and then took off with the toy to chew by herself. Puppy retrieved the ball 3 X before going back off to explore her new surroundings. Puppy was not bothered by the loud sound and barely looked over then went back to looking around. Puppy initially backed away from the Tester as they tried to intimidate her, bouncing from side to side nervously. Puppy stayed calm while being elevated. She quietly grunted and wagged her tail slowly. Puppy whimpered and flinched around slightly but quickly calmed down when being restrained, allowing the Tester to ease their grip. Puppy followed the whip very curiously with her eyes and then pounced, catching the whip with her first try. When the Tester fell, the Puppy walked over tot he Tester, sniffed their face and curled up into the Testers chest until they responded. When the Tester got out the food, Puppy sniffed, licked and nibbled the Testers hand gently for about 15 seconds before sitting down and starring at the Tester, patiently waiting for her treat. Puppy was not interested in playing with the tug toy but really playing fetch. She retrieved the ball over 10X before the Tester called it quits. Puppy then climbed back on to the Testers lap for a cuddle.

Pup #7 BMM

Puppy walked over to the side of where the Tester was sitting. He stopped and laid down just of the Testers reach, looking over at the Tester curiously. The Puppy wagged his tail hard on the ground "thump" when the Tester called him over, but did not get up. Puppy followed the tug toy with his eyes before slowly moving closer to the toy and Tester. Puppy gently tugged on the toy with encouragement, pawing the Testers hands with his front paws. Puppy stalked the ball like it was his prey but soon lost interest and went off to explore his new environment. Puppy followed the Tester for a few moments and then stopped and watched the Tester walk around the room like "what are they doing?" Puppy stayed extremely calm while being petted. He just laid beside the Tester happily with his head rested on the Testers lap. Puppy has an average pain tolerance and whimpered quietly while looking at his paw. Puppy cuddled into the Testers arms like a big baby, staying very calm and giving great eye contact. Puppy accepted the Testers kisses and sniffed and nuzzled the Testers face, and gave little kisses in return, always staying calm. Puppy followed the tug toy with his eyes but did not get up off the Testers lap to play. Tester got the puppy to chase the ball once, but the Puppy took off with the ball to the opposite side of the room to chew. Puppy looked and walked slowly over in the direction the loud sound curiously sniffing the ground. Puppy was really intimidated by the Tester. He backed away slowly, turned around and ran away and hid under a chair. Puppy quickly recovered and squirmed back on to the Testers lap when the Tester called "here puppy puppy". Puppy stayed calm and relaxed when being elevated and did not struggle when being restrained. Puppy followed the whip for a split second before losing interest and starred at the Tester for further direction. When the Tester fell, the Puppy came to life. It was the first real time during the Test that the puppy eagerly went over to the Tester. Puppy started to whimper and went to the Testers face and licked them softly until they responded. When the Tester got out the food, Puppy sniffed an licked at the Testers hand for about 10 seconds. Then he laid down in front of the Testers hand, staring up at the Tester, waiting patiently for his treat.
